Sugar glider acting weird?
i just got a sugar glider off my friend (traded my xbox 360 for him). Hes a cinammon colored male. about a year and a half old.
My friend was mistreating this animal by neglecting him and feeding him unproperly (sugar cubes, chex mix, peanut butter, cereal, Mac and cheese)
im gonna try to get this guy off of those foods and to a more established diet.
He so far seems very chill (actually doesnt make much noise other than a random bark or crab noise or hiss during the day and night)
But here are some things i think are wierd:
1) he is up during the day for a couple hours and asleep for a couple hours at night. Arent they fully nocturnal?
2) He has a foul odor but doesnt pee or poop alot? (my friend HALF trained him to pee and poop in a corner.)
my guess is the odor is of improper diet but... what about the activity in the day?

Some gliders get up during the day for awhile and some don't. Some gliders will be up and moving around at 7pm while others won't budge out of their bags until midnight or 1am. It totally depends on the glider.
Some gliders do have more of an odor to them. However if they have been on an improper diet they will REEK. It will be a few weeks on a GOOD diet (I suggest the HPW diet) before the strong odor will go away.
Please consider getting your glider a friend -- either neuter him and adopt a female, or neuter him and adopt a neutered male. They do best in pairs or more. Good luck!
