Do you think PediPaws works?
I have a pet rabbit whom doesnt let me touch his feet. I have many warrior scars to prove it! I tried to trim his nails before with a regular pet clipper but i failed everytime. He would freak out and escape (even with my boyfriend holding him down). I finally started taking him to vet and paying for professionals to do it for me once a month. But it got so annoying to drive 30 mins to the closest vet and even a little expensive after a while. anyways ive seen the pedipaws infomercials for a while now and it looks succesfull. I think it the same basic concept for most domestic pets. I was looking for it in certain stores the other day but couldn't find it. I just wanted to know if anyone who has bought one can testify to it before i make the investment. FYI: i kno i still have to have control of my rabbit to do this but he's more trusting with me lately and i feel that i can get him used to it if it works and doesnt hurt him. THANX
I have used it and it works great, but the catch is, you will have to hold your rabbit still to use it.
I have four rabbits, and I have found the secret to not getting scratched is to hold the rabbit at it's hips tightly and one at its shoulders, flip it on it's back (cradled between your legs), and hold it there until it submits. If it kicks it will kick the air and not your arms. Once submitted, then you can begin to work on its feet. If it tries to flip, hold it down again, wait for it to submit, and then continue. I use toenail clippers on my bunnies, and it works just fine. If the rabbit is especially wild wear a jean jacket to guard your arms. I have tamed some pretty wild rabbits this way, and now they will tolerate being held, and even purr (teeth grinding) when they snuggle.
My policy with animals is that I am the alpha, and once you establish your place in the hierarchy life is much easier.
