Make a loft for my hamster?
Hi again! 
My hamster's cage is sort of small, and we don't have the money to buy her a new one just yet.
So, I wanted to make her a little loft area above the ground of her cage. I'm going to make or buy a ladder, but any ideas what to make the loft area out of?
I was thinking of making it out of a plastic container lid, but she might chew the sides of that.

Ok this is very simple.....
Get a dish rack and weave cardboard through it or use "twisties" to hold the cardboard down. Then get a plastic container about the same size as the dish rack and cut a hole in it for entrance. It doesn't matter if she chews it cause she won't completely destroy it. then either get a piece of a dish rack or get a ladder and attach it with twisty ties. Okay last thing, use some sort of adhesive or adhesive strips that are sticky on both sides. Stick one side to the cage and then one side to the edge of the dish rack to hold it up.
It seems hard, but actually it is quite easy....i have made one myself and i am not very crafty... ;-]

ps..... ripped up tissue works great, they love to use it as bedding and make nests!
pps... i recommend getting a 10-20 gallon tank when you buy a new cage.....they ALWAYS last the longest! I have a 20 gal tank for my young syrian, Hollywood and he LOVES it.....
