Is it worth having scar tissue removal surgery on my finger injury?
I sustained a serious injury in my finger about a year ago, severing both tendons. The first surgery was botched by a French surgeon and one of the tendons ruptured again. I had the surgery re-done in Ireland and it was a success. I've regained most movement through extensive physiotherapy, but I still can't fully straighten the finger. I think this is due to the tendon being caught in scar tissue. My finger is massive between the two joints due to the build up of scar tissue. Would surgery help free up the tendon? Are there any risks? What will the recovery time be like?
While I have never had anything like this on my finger i have excessive buildup of scar tissue in both my knees due to several surgeries. I know that when it gets bad I cant bend my leg all the way doc takes me in scopes the knee cleans it all up and it is much better. The recovery is nothing in and out of the hospital in the same day and back to work in 2 days.
