Male hamster balls....?
OKAY lol first.. I know it's like wierd or whatever noticing this.. but it's hard not too!! So I have a male hamster... and anyone with a male hamster would know they have massive balls... since I got him though somtimes I notice it looks like he has this wierd growth on one of them.. but then it's not always there:s Can hamsters have ball cancer, or what could it be? I don't know what it is.. but I'm worried because I swear he has to be like the best hamster I've ever had, he's just so kissy and friendly! I don't want him to die this soon lol!!
If it isn't always there, it's possible that his testicles are shifting in his scrotum. Testicles are not round, they are oval shaped and if they get turned sideways or diagonally they can look like a lump. If you feel the testicle and it doesn't feel egg-shaped and you feel a definite lump, it could very well be testicular cancer, which is quite common in male rodents. You should take him to a vet if you find a lump you can palpate, or if the lump gets bigger.
Fun fact: the hamster is the animal with the largest testicles relative to its body size!
