hamster ovo loft cage ?
i recently bought the habitrail ovo loft cage for my long haired hamster and i noticed that the 'hiding spot' under neath the food bowl is very very small, and my hamster is over weight (i've switched his food over, and its all under control dont worry) and he wont be able to fit in there and will get stuck (he gets stuck in the fun-nels..) so i taped some cardboard over the opening. He's still trying to find a way to get in there, and he already has a little house in his cage. Does anyone know how to block it off? Also, he seems to enjoy chewing the very bottom of his cage where it slopes. I have the cardboard in there, and lots of wood chips. He also has chew sticks, a play gym and a wheel so he is not bored, how do i get him to stop chewing it? Thanks (:
Ok well i have that cage too 
i dont suggest blocking it off the hamster will learn that he is too big but maybe stuff it full off bedding so he can t get in? My hamster chews the bottom part also but u think its just whathamsters do and it mite be quite annoying. You can take the food bowl/hiding place/ wheel out and replace the food bowl but i dont reccomend doing this because there will be no wheel but i soppose it would be ok if he had a running around ball and spent a lot of time in it.
