A degus or a rat? The battle of the rodents!?
Which would be a better room pet, ie which makes the least noise? Im a pretty heavy sleeper and sleep through my guinea pig getting up at night to drink etc, and the sound of the filter in my fish tank, so noise isnt an issue for me, just my mum!!
They both have to live in pairs, so is there an upside to rats that degu's dont have? vice versa?
I know degus cant have sugar, but do they get tame? etc? tell me everything!! =D

i think degus have got to be the best the are so entertaining and fun and they are very friendly after a few weeks and they make little squeaks when you walk in the room to show they are happy and stuff.
But unless you get a silent spinner wheel for degus then rats are quieter although if you do then rats tend to chew on everything so i dunno really it varies....

oh and just to add degus will not chew the bars if they have plenty of toys and a wheel
